We supported the kids from the Friars Academy at the Kids Out event in Wicksteed Park. This event is part of a national initiative organized by the Rotary organization.
Every year since 1990, on the second Wednesday of June, over 20,000 children from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland participate in what has become the biggest single outing for disadvantaged children in the UK. Thanks to nearly 2,500 Rotarians who volunteer their time, children who are disadvantaged, have life-limiting conditions, live in refuges, or are affected by poverty, get to experience a day filled with unforgettable, laughter-filled, innocent fun.
Many of these children have never been on a fun day out before, and some have never even seen the sea. You can just imagine the excitement as coaches, taxis, minibuses, and cars finally arrive at their destinations!
We are honoured to be part of this amazing day, bringing joy and smiles to these incredible kids.
